The AM43 is a single-acting wiper for hydraulic systems and standard cylinders. The profile is installed around the piston rod and removes contaminants from the rod surface during the retraction movement.
The wiper therefore prevents dirt from travelling further into the installation space via the moving piston rod. Its functional action is provided by a protruding NBR wiper lip.

The cylinder housing and piston rod must be provided with chamfers to prevent damage to the wiper. The length and angle of these installation chamfers must correspond to the installation-space drawing.
The piston rod surface roughness must correspond to the specifications of the seal used. The groove flanks require a surface roughness of Ra ≤ 4 µm. The groove base must have a surface roughness of Ra ≤ 2.5 µm.
The AM43 must be installed in an axially open groove. According to the data sheet, this installation space is easy to manufacture.
Deburr sharp edges and provide smooth chamfers and radii. Clean the installation space carefully before installation and remove dust, dirt, metal chips and other contaminants.
Store the AM43 at a temperature below 25 °C. Avoid direct sources of heat, direct sunlight and condensation in the storage area.
The wiper must not be exposed to ozone or ionising radiation. The storage recommendations are based on the revision of ISO 2230 dated 16 September 1992.
