The WB design has a spring-loaded sealing lip without an additional protective lip and an open metallic outer jacket. The sealing lip provides dynamic sealing of rotating shafts, regardless of the direction of rotation, and provides a good static seal between the sealing lip and the shaft at standstill. The metallic outer jacket ensures a tight and precise fit in the housing bore. Sealing along the outside is limited with low-viscosity or gaseous media and in split housings.
This NBR WB oil seal is suitable for temperatures from -40 to +80 °C and briefly up to +100 °C. The maximum peripheral speed is 10 m/s and the maximum pressure is 0.05 MPa. NBR offers good resistance to various mineral oils and greases and hydraulic fluids of types H, HL, HLP, HFA and HFB. HFC fluids may be used up to approximately +50 °C and water up to +60 °C. NBR has low resistance to ozone, weathering and ageing. The maximum pressure, temperature and peripheral speed may not all be reached simultaneously.
