The WAO profile is a radial shaft seal without a tension spring or additional protective lip. Its unsprung sealing lip dynamically seals a rotating shaft independently of its direction of rotation. The profile is suitable for sealing grease and as a subordinate seal against dust, dirt or splash water. The rubberized outer jacket provides a secure fit and static seal in the housing bore. When the shaft is stationary, the sealing lip provides only limited static sealing.
This NBR WAO oil seal can be used at temperatures from -40 to +80 °C and for short periods up to +100 °C. NBR offers good resistance to various mineral oils and greases and to H, HL and HLP hydraulic fluids. It can also be used with HFA and HFB fluids and with HFC up to approximately +50 °C. For water, the maximum temperature is +60 °C. NBR has low resistance to ozone, weathering and ageing. The WAO profile has a maximum pressure limit of 0 MPa and a maximum peripheral speed of 6 m/s. The stated maximum values may not all be reached simultaneously.
