Guide bands consist of the premium material PTFE Y005 and exhibit a unique low tendency to extrusion. This guarantees a long service life. The material Y005 consists of new PTFE and a filler. In addition to the long service life, the guides offer impressive resistance to CIP/SIP cleaning media and processes.
In the food industry, guide bands are a frequently used sealing element for absorbing lateral forces in machines. Here the guide belt is in direct contact with the medium, which requires the use of food-safe materials. We offer guide bands for these special applications, which are characterized by their high quality. They also compensate for the lateral forces and deflections that occur in valves. Thanks to the flexibility of the guide bands, they will not be damaged during installation. The guide bands meet the high requirements of the Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority and European legislation according to EU1935/2004 and EU10/2011 for plastics that come into contact with food. Thanks to the food-safe material, Freudenberg offers equipment manufacturers a significantly more wear-resistant and therefore economically attractive alternative to other approved guide bands.
The special profiling of the Guivex guides ensures that the transverse load exerted is optimally distributed over the entire length of the guide element. The lack of stress peaks at the edges also improves the pull-in of the lubricant in the area between the guide and the mating face. Freudenberg has developed a patented laminated fabric guide for its guide bands. This means bent piston rods in long stroke cylinders, insufficient lubrication on short strokes or tilting piston rods with a short guide distance are a thing of the past.
