Guide Rings (Rod) are used to guide the rod and piston in pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders. In addition, they prevent direct metallic contact with the cylinder housing. Guide rings (rod) fulfill this task. Guide rings meet the high demands of the industry. For example, they are able to absorb high shear forces even with a short guiding distance and at the same time low friction losses. Different materials are used that best suit the respective load degree. These include PTFE, polyamide and laminated fabric.
Guide rings (rod) have maximum reliability and durability. We offer guide rings for every type of cylinder and application. They must be able to absorb high shear forces, even with a short guiding distance, and at the same time low friction losses. For example, they are used in earthmoving machines and industrial trucks, agricultural machines and presses. For example, the SB guide ring, a non-metallic guide element for rods and for standardized installation spaces according to ISO 10766, is suitable for this. Due to the material combination of metal and laminated fabric, this guide ring prevents the so-called jamming of equipment. In addition, it has a high load-bearing capacity and the chamfered profile edges prevent edge pressure from the mounting groove. The patented Guivex SBK laminated fabric guide ring is perfect for use in mobile and heavy duty hydraulics and to prevent piston rod deflection in long stroke cylinders. It offers clear advantages over conventional guide bands and rings. This means that it is interchangeable with existing structural spaces of the SB and SF designs, has a high radial load-carrying capacity and excellent conductor length utilization via uniform stress distribution. Added to this is the improved absorption of lubricants via optimized stress distribution in the contact zone between the guide ring of lubricants.
