SHP Super Heat (650°C) is a robust braided and flexible gland packing made of expanded graphite and reinforced with Inconel wire. The broad chemical and thermal resistance of graphite, the low coefficient of friction, the self-lubricating properties, the proven sealing capacity of graphite and the permissible high rotational speed make this packing suitable for a very wide range of applications. SHP is suitable for contact with, for example, hot water, steam, hydrogen gas, ammonia, solvents, hydrocarbons and coolant. Not suitable for some highly oxidising media. This makes this Superheat packing SHP of 8 x 8 very suitable for intensive and extensive use. Gland packing is also referred to as: Braided packing, Compression packing, Ribbonpak & Supagraf.
