The rod seals are mainly used in modern pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders. We offer the right rod seal for every type of cylinder and application. Rod seals are used to provide sealing for retracting and extending cylinder rods, preventing the pressurized operating medium from escaping from the cylinder and protecting the cylinder from external debris.
The hydraulic rod seals meet all customer expectations for maximum reliability, long life and functionality. Freudenberg Sealing Technologies is constantly developing its own rod sealing systems and equipping them with additional features required by modern systems. These include, for example, storage modules for holding drag oil, long strokes, different rod retraction and retraction speeds, and pressure relief functions in the case of primary seals. The rod seals effectively prevent a system-based, excessive pressure build-up in the sealing system and protect against premature failure of the primary and secondary seals.
To reliably retain hydraulic fluids and seal piston rods, the sealing material used must be relatively light and wear-resistant. At the same time, however, the material must have the necessary hardness to prevent cracking at high operating pressures and high temperatures. In the form of the HDR-2C rod seal, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies achieves this challenging goal in a single component. This groundbreaking grooved washer is the perfect solution for difficult tasks. It consists of two high-quality polyurethane compounds of different hardness levels, which Freudenberg Sealing Technologies chemically combines into a single seal, eliminating the need for a backup ring. This makes assembly child's play.
